Ford boss hails ‘remarkable’ Valentino Rossi

Ford team boss Malcolm Wilson hailed Valentino Rossi’s Rally GB performance as the Italian ended the gruelling event in 12th place yesterday.

Despite missing his pre-event target of a top ten finish, Rossi impressed the WRC fraternity with a respectable 12th place finish in his third world rally event.

Wilson said Valentino Rossi’s performance had been a great boost for the Stobart team, not least because of the profile the six-times MotoGP world champion has in world motorsport.

He particularly singled out Rossi for praise following his performance in yesterday’s final four stages where the Italian produced his best form, twice claiming the 11th best time in stages.

“What a fantastic weekend for the team with all three Stobart liveried cars finishing with no problems. There has been so much excitement with Valentino in the team and his presence here has been a massive boost to the squad; his times today have been remarkable, “said Wilson.
