Who is your MCN Man of the Year for 2008?

1 of 17

This is your chance to choose who you think has been the star motorcycle racer of the 2008 season in MCN’s prestigious Man of the Year award.

It’s been a season of highs, lows and fairing bashing action. And now it’s your chance to select who you think deserves the plaudits for this season.

MCN has selected a shortlist of this year’s big names, so all you have to do is place your vote for who you think deserves to raise the award in ’08.

In MotoGP Valentino Rossi looks set to take his World title tally to eight after two years without championship silverware.

Casey Stoner has pushed him all the way in 2008 with a run of recent top form and sole MotoGP British representative, and 2007 Man of the Year winner, James Toseland has had a big impact on the series in his debut season.

In the 125cc class we’ve had two domestic hopefuls to cheer on with both Bradley Smith and Scott Redding proving they have race-winning abilities, including Redding’s memorable Donington GP victory.

World Superbikes has been another master-class by soon-to-be-retiring Troy Bayliss.

But Carlos Checa and impressive German youngster Max Neukirchner have pushed him all season long.

Craig Jones, who tragically lost his life at Brands Hatch, was one of the real British hopes for a World Championship, coming good in 2008 with his Parkalgar Honda CBR600. And he enters the fray for the 2008 award.

And in BSB it’s all been about the resurgence of Shane Byrne domination on his return to Ducati machinery.

But fellow British youngsters Cal Crutchlow and Tom Sykes have raised a few eyebrows in 2008 in their second year in BSB.

And don’t forget Glen Richards, the rider behind the return to domestic championship glory for Triumph.

Closing dates for voting is Friday 26th September.
