Guy Martin has signed to ride for Hydrex Honda to race in the British championship as well as contesting all the major road race classes.

Martin is out to secure his first TT win this year and will ride in the Superbike, Supersport and Superstock classes at the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and Ulster Grand Prix – as well as selected other road race events.

Although the team have issued a press release stating Martin will be in British Supersport, Martin says nothing’s been finalised as far as his short circuit programme goes.

He said: “I’ll definitely be contesting the British Championship rounds leading up to the TT although we’re not sure at the moment whether it will be Superbike or Supersport. “After that the team will let me use the bikes where I want and we could combine the short circuits with a few more road events. The three Internationals, especially the TT, are at the top of my agenda and I’ll be going all out to win in the 100th year of the TT.”

Martin’s first outing for the team is expected to be in mid-February when a nine day test has been scheduled for the Spanish circuits of Calafat, Guadix and Almeria.

Karl Harris rides a Hydrex Honda in BSB while South Africa Allan Jon Venter is the team’s representative in National Superstock.
