CCM debuts with Plater

The CCM FT35R made its shorttrack racing debut at Scunthorpe Speedway circuit, ridden by British Superbike star Steve Plater.

Plater took his bike to an impressive sixth position on Monday, January 2, 2006, riding speedway style for the first time since he was 15 years old. His team-mate, Eastbourne Speedway rider Andy Moore, suffered a technical problem in the final, and dropped out of third place.

“I only managed to get in 10 laps of practice, three heats and the semi final, but I managed to qualify for the final,” said Plater. “It was a good day and a great experience thanks to CCM. I’m hoping to compete in a few more races throughout the year around my road racing calendar.”
