Carmichael wins again

1 of 1

Ricky Carmichael continued his winning ways at the fifth round of the AMA Supercross championship on Saturday, February 4, 2006.

The reigning champion led from turn three of the opening lap of the final as championship rivals James Stewart and Chad Reed both fell. Stewart fell three times during the 20-lap race as he tried to recover, eventually finishing eighth. Reed meanwhile managed a massive comeback to take second place, with Carmichael’s team-mate Ivan Tedesco in third.

Carmichael now leads the AMA Supercross championship by 13 points, and moves into the lead of the World Supercross championship.
