Bayliss domination

1 of 1

Troy Bayliss continued his utter domination of the official Pirelli test in Qatar, posting the best ever Superbike lap in the process with a time of 1m58.1. Bayliss stamped his authority on the test by topping the time sheets on each day and proved that he and his 999 Ducati remain the package to beat in 2007.

Suzuki’s Max Biaggi came good on the final day after a slow start. His final lap of the test was good enough to secure joint second in the standings, with the man he replaced at Suzuki, Troy Corser. Corser was once again impressive, having run with the leader on all three days after instantly clicking with the 2007 Yamaha R1.

Regis Laconi stormed up the leader board on the final day with a 1m59.2s lap time onboard the ever improving Kawasaki ZX-10R.

James Toseland couldn’t match his impressive form from day two and was unable to improve his lap time, which meant he slipped down to 6th.

It was a disappointing test for Nori Haga who failed to get off to the same flying start as his new team-mate and finished the test down in seventh spot.
