Historic Carmichael win

Ricky Carmichael has already claimed perfect seasons in his career, but in his final AMA Motocross season, he has also become the first racer to lap an entire field of riders.

The achievement came at the ninth round of the AMA championship at Spring Creek in Minnesota. The reigning champion came from behind on his Suzuki RM-Z450 to pass Kawasaki’s James Stewart, but in the second he was able to get the holeshot, and go on to lap everyone en route to his seventh consecutive victory, and his 142nd combined AMA Motocross/Supercross win.

In the Motocross Lites class Broc Hepler took his first moto win and overal victory of the 2006 season.
