Nunn is Brit MX2 champ

Britain’s Carl Nunn has won the British MX2 championship with two third places at the penultimate round at Whitby on Sunday, September 11, 2005.
The 25-year-old KTM rider has lead the series since round two, and has stood on the podium at every round.
The first MX2 Moto went to Gareth Swanpoel on a Kawasaki, with Yamaha’s Billy Mackenzie second and Nunn third. The second Moto saw Mackenzie and Swanpoel swap, with MacKenzie taking victory, and the overall result. Nunn sealed his title with another third place.
“It’s been a long day and I just wanted it to end quickly,” said the 2005 MX2 champion. “I knew that to win this championship would be tought. I’m really happy with how I kept my form up through the series. I want to give a big thank you to my team, my mechanics and my sponsors. They all made this happen for me, and I really appreciate it.”
The MX1 championship will be decided at the final round on october 9, 2005, at Matchams Park, but New Zealander Josh Coppins is in control after winning both Motos at Whitby for the overall win. Title rivals James Noble and Paul Cooper came second and third both times to replicate their positions in the championship.
The trio of Honda riders are now seperated by just eight points, with 60- up for grabs at the final round. Coppins leads on 354, Noble is second on 351, with Cooper third on 346.
