Lavilla on Donington pole

Gregorio Lavilla has taken his second successive pole position after setting the fastest lap at the penultimate round of the British Superbike championship at Donington Park.

Lavilla shattered the lap record with a 1:31.458 lap beating his Ducati team-mate Leon Haslam to the top spot and pushing championship rival Ryuichi Kiyonari in to fourth behind his Honda team-mate Michael Rutter.

Glen Richards took his Kawasaki to fifth ahead of the Suzuki’s of James Haydon and John Reynolds.
