Spanish chance for Brits

1 of 1

British 125cc racers James Westmoreland and Dan Linfoot will ride for the Ajo Motorsport team in the final two rounds of the 125cc Spanish championship.

The two spots are a reward for their performances in 2005, which saw Westmorland clinch the ACu Academy Cup from runner-up Linfoot. Both riders also competed as wild cards at the British Grand Prix at Donington in July 2005, which saw Linfoot take an impressive ninth place in the two-part race.

Organisers Dorna had already selected fellow ACU Academy star Kev Coghlan for a place in the Spanish championship, and the trio of 17-year-olds will be joined at the next royund at Valencia, on November 18-20 by 14-year-olds Danny Webb and Bradley Smith, who is the first ever British winner of a Spanish championship race.

They will also race at the final round of the season at Jerez on November 25-27, 2005.
