Kiyonari on pole

1 of 1

Ryuichi Kiyonari has taken pole positions for the Kockhill round of British Superbikes finishing just ahead fo team-mate Michael Rutter.

The HM Plant Honda pair have dominated the season so far and Kiyonari is showing he is keen to make up the championship ground he lost to injury by setting a new lap record qualifying time.

Rutter only finished a tenth of a second behind despite having a massive highside in the afternoon session.

Red Bull Honda rider Jonathan Rea impressed everyone by taking third place on the grid while Suzuki rider John Reynolds proved he is on the come back by taking the final place on the front row.

Dean Thomas takes fifth place on the grid on his Hawk Kawasaki with Leon Haslam, Michael Laverty, and James Haydon finishing the second row.
