Classic race awards

The International Historic Motorsport Show is now looking for nominations for its Historic Motorsport Awards, which gives awards to people, race meetings, clubs and classic vehicles.

Anyone is allowed to submit a nomination as long as you are involved in historic racing in some way.

The winners will receive their awards at a charity dinner hosted by the likes of John Surtees and Cosworth founders Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth.

Nomination Categories:

RACE MEETING OF THE YEAR

This event will have impressed by its variety and strength of entry and produced a spectacular, hard-fought day or weekend.

CHAMPIONSHIP OR SERIES OF THE YEAR

To a championship or series which has been well-supported, hard-fought and enjoyable for competitors and spectators.

COMPETITION CLUB OF THE YEAR

Offering a varied choice of events, this club will have a healthy and active membership.

SPEED EVENT OF THE YEAR

Chosen from the many non-circuit events that take place on hills, grass, strips or short ovals. Our sport is very diverse and all branches deserve support.

ROAD RALLY OF THE YEAR

A challenge for both driver and navigator, this event will have been organised by an efficient and friendly team.

OFF ROAD EVENT OF THE YEAR

The winner will share the qualities of road rallying, but with the inclusion of even more mud.

MOTORCYCLE EVENT OF THE YEAR

Chosen from the best of this year¹s classic racing and speed events, trials, scrambling (moto-cross), grasstrack and drag racing, it will have tested the skills of the competitors, as well as delighting spectators.

MOTORSPORT COMPANY OF THE YEAR

Will have given a friendly. enthusiastic, knowledgeable service and is prepared to go that extra mile (or

kilometre) for its customers.

RESTORATION OF THE YEAR

To be awarded to the workshop which has produced an outstanding result which, preferably, goes as well as it looks.

RACE DRIVER OF THE YEAR

He or she will certainly be a crowd pleaser and one who has fought hard and skilfully to produce outstanding performances.

RALLY DRIVER OF THE YEAR

A consistent performer whether on tarmac or gravel, the winner will, no doubt, have proved adaptable to varying surfaces and conditions.

JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR

This individual will be a friend to the sport and one who speaks with authority and enthusiasm to competitors and the public alike.
