Minimoto on Isle of Man

There’s now a legal way to ride Minimotos at the home of motorcycling, the Isle of Man.

The Duke brand has now opened up its existing kart track to minimotos every Saturday and Sunday, beginning with the official launch on Saturday, August 13, 2005.

Riders who own their own bikes can access the 375 metre circuit between 9.30am-11.30am on both Saturdays and Sundays. It costs £20 for the full two hours on an open pit-lane basis, with a maximum of 10 bikes on track at one time. A ten minute session will cost £5.

And the track can be privately hired at £300 for the first hour, and £100 for 30 mins thereafter.

All riders must be over 10 years old and provide their own lid, elbow and knee proection, gloves and overalls.

“We’ve been aware of the increase in minimotos on the Island without a professional circuit to runt hem on. rather than a car park or industrial estate we’ll be able to offer a decent surface, transponder timing and full marshalling,” said Duke’s Gavin Smith.
