BSB: Silverstone practice

Sean Emmett has gone fastest in the first practice session for the Silvertsone round of the British Superbike championship on Sunday.

Emmett posted a time of 1:36.089 on the Virgin Mobile Samsung R1 in cloudy and wet conditions. Second in the session was Karl Harris, who managed 1:36.161. before falling in the wet as the sessions ended. Steve Plater and James Buckingham also fell on oil from the Honda Racing CBR1000RR, but none of the three crashers were hurt.

Michael Rutter went third quickest, in front of youngster Tommy Hill, Gregorio Lavilla, and reigning champion John Reynolds. Ben Bostrom is in 30th on the Renegade Ducati, one palce behind Dennis Hobbs.
