The 2004 Isle of Man TT meeting begins today, Friday May 28, with practice for the De Montfort pre-TT Classic races.

The races themselves begin on Saturday, and continue on Bank Holiday Monday.

Practice also begins on Saturday for the main TT races with the Ultra-Lightweight 125cc, Lightweight 400cc, Junior 600cc and Production 600cc bikes starting at 6.15pm. The second session, which begins at 7.10pm, features Formula One, Senior, Junior 600cc, Production 600cc and Production 100cc classes, and the sidecars take to the course at 8.05pm.

A late entry to the TT is Rob Frost who will compete in the Production 1000cc, Junior 600cc and Senior races. Withdrawals include Roy Tansley and Jason Miller from the Sidecar TT, and the substitution of Steve Knowles by Jason Miller in the sidecar outfit of Errol Craven.

And the first Italian on an Italian machine since 1972 will be riding, with Umberto Rumiano on an MV Agusta.
