Smart on Cadwell pole

Scott Smart is on pole for Monday’s British Superbike race at Cadwell Park.

The Hawk Kawasaki ZX-10R rider set out to take the top spot right form the start, setting the fastest time in both Saturday and Sunday’s qualifying sessions.

Michael Rutter will be starting from second place, finishing with a time that was only marginally quicker than the time Smart set on Saturday. Smart used Sunday’s session to cut 0.45 seconds off the time he set in the first session.

Tommy Hill continued to impress in his first year in the championship, taking third place on the grid ahead of Rizla Suzuki rider John Reynolds and only 0.2 of a second behind Ruttter.

Dean Thomas starts the second row of the grid on the Sendo Dienza Ducati followed by the Rizla Suzuki of Yukio Kagayama, Ryuichi Kionari’s HM Plant Honda and former WSB rider James Haydon on the Virgin Yamaha.
