Former World Supersport champion Andrew Pitt will ride for the Yamaha Motor Italia team at Assen on September 3-5..

The team originally contacted the Australian to replace the injured Fabien Foret, however Foret has recovered sufficiently well to at least compete in Firday’s practice session, Pitt, Foret and Jurgen van den Goorbergh will all be riding for the team at the Dutch round.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to get back on a competitive bike with a good team,” said Pitt. “I’ve had a few wild-card outings in MotoGP this year for Moriwaki and feel I’m riding well, even if the package hasn’t allowed me to race at the front.”
