Win Sheffield supercross tickets for McGrath farewell

1 of 1

Seven-times U.S. supercross champion Jeremy McGrath will be the man to beat this Saturday, October 11, when he competes in the first round of the seventh International supercross series at the Sheffield Arena.

McGrath will headline the MCN-backed event as part of his farewell tour of Europe after retiring from competition earlier this year. The American has raced at Sheffield before, making his Yamaha debut in 1998, and says the British crowd is ‘awesome.’

McGrath is a six-times AMA supercross champ, with 11 major titles to his name including two 125 titles, one 250 national title and two world supercross titles.

Since quitting supercross McGrath is now riding a Honda CRF450 for off-road style guru Troy Lee in the new U.S. supermoto series.

The international supercross championship includes six events and will see defending 125cc and 250cc champions, Brits Neil Prince and Jason Higgs, take on Finland’s Jussi Vehvilainen, Japan’s Yoshi Atsuta, Australia’s Kim Askenazi and Paul Cooper of South Africa.

The event is expected to see nearly 9000 supercross fans jammed into the stadium to see dirt bikes flying round a specially-constructed track.

Tickets can be bought from the Sheffield Arena Box office (0114-256-5656) but we’ve got five pairs to give away. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is answer this question: Whose CRF450 is McGrath riding in the U.S? A: Troy Lee’s, B: Troy Corser’s, C: Troy Bayliss’s.

Send you entries to mcn.comps@emap.com with McGrath in the Subject and the answer, along with your name, address and daytime contact number in the body. Deadline for entries is noon on Friday, October 10.
