Brit MX riders dominate latest round

CAS Honda’s Gordon Crockard and Albion KTM’s Stephen Sword dominated round four of the British Motocross Championship at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire on Sunday May 11.

Sword took both 125cc championship races on his KTM and followed that by finishing as the best 125 in the Maxxis Superfinal. Second in both 125 races was American Yamaha rider Jeff Dement. KTM machines finished third, with Ben Saunders on the podium in the first race, and Irishman Richard McKeown doing the honours in the second.

The 250cc races were won by Gordon Crockard, still carrying a shoulder injury from World Championship duties. The first Moto saw a second for Mark Hucklebridge, in front of championship leader Paul Cooper. Crockard beat Stuart Flockhart and Japanese rider Yoshitaka Atsuta to the finish in the second Moto

The Superfinal also went Crockard’s way. He again finished in front of Flockhart and Atsuta. Paul Cooper claimed fourth, with 125cc ace Sword in sixth.
