Team Renegade launch. Haslam launches bike

Team Renegade Ducati celebrated their new look Red Bull livery with an official launch in Manchester on Thursday. The Renegade riders, Sean Emmett, Michael Rutter, Nick Medd and Leon Haslam spent the morning displaying their skills outside Manchester Picadilly station.

The area had been cordoned off by Manchester police, and commuters were treated to the site of the Superbike and commuters were treated to the sight of Emmett and Rutter on their Ducati Superbikes, with Medd and Haslam on their Supersports bikes.

Leon Haslam took it a bit to far however, attempting a wheelie at the request of a TV crew, and launching his new Ducati up the road. As it was all caught on camera, Haslam’s teammates are already threatening to send the tape into ITV’s You’ve Been Framed.

” It came up a bit quicker than I expected, and I couldn’t reach the back brake in time to stop it. It was all a bit embarrassing, but at least I’ve got my first crash out of the way early on! ” , said the 19-year-old, who luckily escaped uninjured.

The 2003 British Superbikes season begins at Silverstone on March 30.
