LOCATION

Near Nevers – but the track itself is in the middle of nowhere.

How you get there: Fly to Paris and hire a car, or take an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre for a four-hour ride at the other end. Or go to Calais and gun it down. Bank on a full day riding and watch out for cops who love to relieve Brits of hard-earned cash.

CIRCUIT LENGTH

2.641 miles

RECORDS

500 GP: Wayne Gardner, Australia (Honda) 1:39.273 – 95.766mph (1992)

250 GP: Loris Regiani, Italy (Aprilia) 1:41.428 – 93.731 (1992)

125 GP: Ezio Gianola, Italy (Honda) 1:47.674 – 88.294mph (1992)

SBK: Doug Polen Ducati 1’44.980 (1991)

DETAILS

It’s a new venue for 2003. But the track and facilities should be top notch as it has been recently revamped. Camping is plentiful and Nevers is a beautiful old town that offers a decent night out. And if the title goes down to the wire, there will be a deluge of Brits riding down to see one of our boys crowned champion.
