Beirer out of coma

World Motocross GP rider Pit Beirer is out of his induced coma following his crash at the Bulgarian GP.

The German’s lungs have now recovered enough for him to be taken off a respirator, but his sixth thoracic vertebra is broken and his spinal cord is badly damaged. As a result, Beirer is unlikely to regain the use of his legs.

” He is willing to meet the future despite knowing the consequences of his handicap. He is totally motivated to start rehabilitation, and above all, he is happy to still be alive, ” confirmed a KTM press release.
