Hislop and Mason head to Valencia

Virgin Yamaha riders Steve Hislop and Gary Mason are preparing for their next test session in Valencia on March 3-4

After a cold test at Snetterton Hislop is hoping that a couple of days in the warmer weather will allow him to see the R1 at its best.

He was pleased with the results of last week’s test and is confident that the bike will perform well in the coming season. He said: ” The boys have worked really hard on it over the winter and got some good power out of it. ”

The cold weather prevented the riders from testing the bike to the full but Hislop was happy that he had come away with a good feel for what the bike can do.

He was unconcerned about a crash he had at the circuit, admitting that he was going a bit to fast at the end of the straight. Hislop wasn’t injured and the bike was relatively unscathed.
