Ricky Carmichael has won the seventh round of the World Supercross GP at the Metrodome, in Minneapolis.

Carmichael, a Honda factory rider, has already won the title twice and the result on the February 15 means he has now moved one step closer to winning a third. The win is also the riders third of the competition so far.

Ezra Lusk, riding for the Chevy Trucks Kawasaki team, led the first four laps before Yamaha factory rider Chad Reed moved into the lead. Carmichael followed him in to second but one lap later Reed went down as well. Carmichael moved into the lead riding to his 84th career AMA victory. Lusk finished the race in second with Tim Ferry, another Factory Yamaha rider coming in third.

The result sees Carmichael sitting at the top of the championship table with 160 points, a 14-point lead over second place Reed who only managed to finish in sixth place at the Metrodome final.
