Brit MX win for injured Cooper

1 of 1

The third round of the British Motocross championship took place last weekend at Cadders Hill, Lyng, and saw defending champion Paul Cooper take the overall win despite riding with a broken foot.

Coopers main rival Gordon Crockard was sitting out the round due to injuries allowing Cooper to win two of the three races, only being beaten by Honda riding Christian Burnham in the second open race.

Stuart Flockhart lead for the majority of the first race but Cooper was close behind and a mistake by Flockhart in the closing stages saw Cooper slip past.

Cooper started badly in the second race but managed to make up the distance to take the duelling Hucklebridge and Flockhart on the last lap to finish second.

The final race was the Maxxis Cup race. Cooper battled through the field to take the lead with just two laps to go finishing the race almost eight seconds ahead of Hucklebridge.

The next round of the championship takes place at Hawkstone Park on May 11.
