The unbeatable and unstoppable Ricky Carmichael made history at the Steel City Raceway in Philadelphia on Sunday when he took the final round of the AMA 250 Motocross championship, thereby winning every single moto of the 2002 season.

His 24 consecutive victories gives him a perfect 600 point haul, with second place man Tim Ferry a distant 160 points behind.

Carmichael came third in the first race after getting bogged down in the pack, but the Honda rider steamed through to win the second by a mile.

In the 125s James Stewart set another record too. With the win today in the 125 class, he owns the new record for overall victories in a 125 outdoor season – 10.
