Carmichael takes title lead with third Daytona win

1 of 1

Ricky Carmichael made it three in a row in AMA supercross when he won the Daytona event on his home track.

It was also his third Daytona win on the trot. David Vuillemin, who was leading the championship before Daytona, was unable to race after crashing during a photo shoot. He has injured his shoulder and may require surgery.

Another Florida rider, Tim Ferry, made a successful return to the series by finishing second. Ezra Lusk was third.
