Yamaha finally unveils the YZ450F

Here are the first pictures of Yamaha’s long awaited YZ450F, a beefed-up version of its YZ426, the bike to compete head-to-head with Honda’s awesome CRF450.

You can read more about the new Yamaha YZ450F in the next issue of MCN, out June 19.

The new bike gets sleeker bodywork, automatic decompression and just four gears for a narrower motocross focus.

It has also dropped around 2.5kg (5.5lb) to bring its claimed weight to jut under that of the CRF450’s 102kg (225lb) dry weight.

No announcement has been made as to UK prices or availability. We’ll bring you more details as we get them.
