Lampkin does the Island double

Dougie Lampkin extended his lead at the top of the Outdoor Trials world championship with a sensational double victory on the Isle of Man.

The defending champion dropped just four points on the first round in some difficult conditions. But while the rain caused problems for many of the riders, Manxman Steve Colley used some of his home knowledge to grab third, behind Lampkin’s Montesa team mate Takahisa Fujinami, relegating Albert Cabestany to fourth spot.

Lampkin is now on to 80 points, ahead of Fujinami and Cabestany, tied on 58.
