David Jefferies will take over John Crawford’s ride in the ETI racing squad after the Scot was knocked unconscious at the Silverstone BSB round two weeks ago.

Crawford still isn’t fully recovered after a high speed accident on his GSX-R1000. He told MCN; ” I’m OK physically, but I am still getting dizzy spells, so after talking to the team, we made the decision that I should rest and not race at Brands.

” I don’t remember the accident I just remember waking up in an ambulance ” .

Jefferies, on loan from from Tech 2 racing, will ride in rounds 3 & 4 of the MCN British Superbike championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Ian Simpson, ETI team manager, said: ” The 1000cc Suzukis are big and powerful. David has the strength and muscle to ride these bikes and has demonstrated over the years he has good knowledge of how a superbike works.

” I think David will surprise a few people this weekend, on and off the track, we’re delighted to have him on board. ”

Crawford is undergoing test, but ETI expect him to be fit enough to resume his ride for rounds 5 & 6 of the championship at Donington in two weeks time.
