LOCATION

A few miles to the west of Magdeburg, ( about 120 miles west of Berlin) Oschersleben is right next to the town of the same name. By road on the main A2 Berlin-Hanover autobahn, exit at junction 66 for Eilsleben, and then follow signs.

DETAILS

Tight and twisty, virtually all in second and third gear on a big bike, Oschersleben’s maiden WSB event in 2000 was a memorable success. The circuit owners have built – in the middle of a not particularly interesting part of nowhere – a decent professional venue which riders like for being not too tricky, grippy, and safe, and fans like because they can see much of the track from the very high grandstands. The course is flat and evenly mixes constant radius lefts and right, and the first turn seems to be a honeytrap for crashers so if you like your carnage spectate there. If you plan to pitch a tent, the surrounding campsites can get a little ” edgy ” at night – if bottle throwing and 3am car tipping are your thing, you’ll feel right at home.
