Chinese brand Voge have released a new A2-compliant adventurer that combines big bike features with a small bike price. If you’re not familiar with Voge, they’re a sub-brand of Loncin who do work for many manufacturers, including BMW (which is where the motor is from).

As the name suggests, the 650DSX is powered by a 652cc single, which produces an A2-friendly 47bhp and 44lb.ft of torque. This is housed in a steel trellis frame, which sets it up for proper off-road action. It also comes fitted with an 18-litre fuel tank, which should deliver in excess of 200 miles if you’re not wringing its neck.

The genuine adventure ability continues elsewhere with quality KYB suspension, 19/17in spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres – such quality tyres are a rarity at this price point. Despite the bike’s off-road intentions, the 850mm seat height should be manageable for most riders.

Braking is taken care of by Nissin with twin 298mm floating discs and properly switchable rear ABS, which is helpful when tackling slightly more gnarly off-road sections.

There’s even a proper aluminium bash plate and engine bars as standard, in case said gnarly off-road sections end in a tumble. Despite its budget appeal the DSX has lots of nifty tech and quality parts that you would expect on more premium machines.

For a start it comes with a proper TFT dash with tyre pressure monitoring and a USB charging port to keep your phone topped up. It’s also got LED lighting, dual purpose footpegs with removable rubbers plus a luggage rack that takes a topbox.

In standard trim the 650DSX costs £6399 but for £500 more, they’ll fit a full luggage system, which is a near £400 saving over buying the bits as standard. And for the first 30 customers, they’re throwing in the luggage for free.
