Kawasaki share further details on 2024 Eliminator 500 twin range

Kawasaki have now revealed further details on their Honda CMX500 Rebel-rivalling Eliminator 500 cruiser range, which was first seen in June 2023 and will join the Japanese firm’s line-up for 2024. We’ve had a chance to ride it already, so check out our 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 500 review.

The laid back A2 friendly models will consist of a standard Eliminator, as well as an SE version, with both machines powered by a 451cc parallel twin motor derived from the revvy 399cc lump found in the Ninja 400 and Z400 naked family.

Arriving in dealers from January, this engine is housed in a tubular steel chassis that again draws inspiration from the Ninja. Despite the sporting name it borrows from, the new Eliminator rolls on an 18” front and 16” rear wheel combination with cast rims, plus a low seat height of 735mm (45mm taller than the Rebel).

If that’s too high for you, a 715mm option is also available, plus a 765mm design for those with longer legs. All three are relatively low though.

Kawasaki haven’t revealed any performance figures yet, but it’s unlikely to produce any more than the 47bhp A2 licence threshold, without need for restriction. Expect the mapping to be more for gentle cruising, than thrashing around.

Elsewhere, the firm have confirmed a 1520mm wheelbase, with images of the finished bike further showing preload adjustable twin shocks alongside fixed conventional forks.

To save weight, the diecast swingarm has been mounted to the back of the Euro5 engine, which is also said to aid stability. You also get full LED lighting and an LCD display perched at the top of the raked out front end, that can be connected to your phone via the Kawasaki Rideology app.

To distinguish the SE from the standard model, the more premium option features a special colour and graphics package, plus a headlamp cowl, rubber fork covers, handlebar mounted USB-C port, and unique seat.

Kawasaki look to Eliminate the competition with new A2 cruiser model

Kawasaki Eliminator cruisers

Kawasaki have teased a new A2 cruiser model called the Eliminator to rival bikes like the Honda Rebel 500 and Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

The Eliminator is described by Kawasaki as an urban cruiser and carries one or two design cues that nod to previous models of the same name – like its twin shocks and single, round headlight.

This latest version uses a 451cc version of the parallel-twin engine used in the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Kawasaki Z400, wrapped in an all new tubular steel chassis. The bike rolls on an 18” front and 16” rear wheel combination with cast rims and a single front brake disc.

Despite it’s slightly retro-infused styling, the Eliminator also gets modern touches like a digital dash display and slip-assist clutch.

The cruiser styling of the Eliminator puts it in the range just beneath the Kawasaki Vulcan S, and although full details are yet to be released, a guide price of £6600 – £6800 puts it in the region of the £6299 Honda Rebel 500 and the cheaper but less powerful £4219 Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Full details of the new bike will be revealed before the bike goes on sale in January 2024.
