Naked ready for summer: CFMoto 800NK to hit dealers in July

The covers have been whipped off the new CFMoto 800NK, the production version of their middleweight naked roadster concept.

The Chinese brand unveiled the NK-C22 concept bike last year built around a KTM 790 parallel-twin engine and now it’s a fully finished road model.

Not all of the concept’s features have made it to the finished product, though, gone are the aero wings, single-sided swingarm and SC Project exhaust have all gone missing as have the front brake cooling ducts, Pirelli tyres and carbon infills and engine covers.

What you do get is a 799cc, parallel-twin, DOHC engine that puts out a claimed 93.8bhp and 58.3lb.ft of torque. That means it makes the same power as but slightly less torque than the 2023 KTM 790 Duke also built by CFMoto. If the claimed 186kg weight is accurate, the 800NK should feel pretty nippy.

Suspension on the CFMoto 800NK is supplied by KYB with 43mm fully adjustable forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. A Chromoly-steel tubular frame and standard swingarm unit complete the chassis.

The concept bike’s four-pot J.Juan brake calipers remain on the standard bike with 320mm twin discs up front. The Pirelli tyres from the concept give way to MAXXIS items on the production version.

You also get a 5” TFT dash with smartpone connectivity for sat-nav and music, cruise control and three riding modes, which is impressive on a bike that costs just £6999 on the road. There is also a slightly fancier version called the CFMoto 800NK Advanced that comes with a bigger dash (and Apple CarPlay), quickshifter and steering damper.

That price makes the standard 800NK £1000 cheaper than a KTM 790 Duke and Suzuki GSX-8S and the same price as a Honda Hornet. The CFMoto 800NK will hit UK dealers in July, keep an eye out for our full review coming soon.
