Chinese brand CFMoto reveal 700CL-X range

You may not have heard of CFMoto yet, but the chances are you will soon as the Chinese brand aims to increase its presence in the UK motorcycle market with a new 700CL-X range.

Unveiled at Eicma, in Milan, earlier this week, the range will consist of three cool new models in Heritage, Adventure and Sport guises, all built around a 692cc parallel-twin engine producing a claimed 73.5bhp and 49.4ftlb of torque, which should be more than enough for some fun on the road.

The Adventure features high bars, chunky tyres, a touring screen and soft luggage for a retro adventure feel.

The Sport uses clip-ons and a cool two-tone paintjob to give a retro-custom muscle bike feel, coupled with a thoroughly modern tail unit with flashes of flouro paint for good measure.

Meanwhile, the Heritage uses its brown leather seat and understated silver paint to create a retro-futuristic scrambler finish.

All three bikes use a ride-by-wire throttle with cruise control and a neat, round 75mm LCD display that can show fuel consumption. You even get a USB port to charge your phone under the seat.

For many, there will be a question mark over reliability, but CF have been producing KTM’s engines for the Asian markets for a while now and say they’ve never had a warranty for an engine in their own bikes.
