Torque of the town: Cake unveil trail and track-focused limited-edition Bukk model

Swedish e-motorcycle manufacturer Cake have released their limited-edition trail and track focused Bukk producing over 300lbft of claimed rear-wheel torque.

Named using the ancient language of Sweden’s largest island, Gotland, the Bukk translates as Thunder Cloud and certainly packs a punch.

Weighing just 85kg the bike can reach speeds over 62mph thanks to its 16kW motor, powered by a 72v lithium-ion battery transferred through and all new drive train. Both are seated in a newly designed aluminium frame.

A full charge will allow 3 hours of riding with a full charge from empty taking 2.5 hours. Charging from zero to 80% takes just 1 hour 40 minutes.  

Damping duties are taken care of by a WP, 43mm cone valve air fork on the offering 278mm of travel and an Öhlin, with 297mm of travel, on the rear.

A 19-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium wheel complete the rider to ground transition booted with 70/100-19 mx and 3.00-18 mx tyres respectively.

Three rider and engine braking modes will be available as well as a custom ride mode and GPS tracking.

Just 50 Bukk models will be produced, finished in Cake’s iconic Race series yellow, retailing at €14,970 from ridecake.com.
