Ducati are paying tribute to double MotoGP world champion and current factory MotoGP rider, Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia with a £75,000 Panigale V4 Tricolore Italia superbike.

Limited to 163 units, each of the bikes will be signed by Bagnaia himself – with a livery inspired by the Desmosedici GP24 MotoGP racers competing at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, plus a numbered billet aluminium top yoke and unique TFT dash start-up graphic.

The 163 bikes sold is also a nod to Pecco himself, with Bagnaia running the number 63 when not sporting the number one plate after a championship victory.

The Italian race in June saw the factory Ducati MotoGP team take an impressive one-two finish, with Bagnaia finishing ahead of teammate Enea Bastianini in the main race of the weekend. A special livery was used for the meeting, on which the new Panigale is based.

Under the skin of the special edition Panigale is the same 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine as before, producing a claimed 213bhp at 13,500rpm. Torque comes in at 89.2lb.ft at 11,250rpm, with the bike sold in track-ready trim with a number of special extras fitted.

This includes a set of Brembo‘s new GP4 Sport Production titanium-coloured anodised monoblock front brake calipers. Machined from billet, they include cooling fins like racing stoppers to improve heat exchange and are designed for track use.

They are derived from equipment used in the World Superbike championship and were equipped to the fleet of Panigales raced in the Race of Champions at World Ducati Week 2024 in Misano.

Also derived from world championship racing are the Brembo racing T-Drive finned discs sporting a hefty 338.5mm diameter and 6.2mm thickness. The Italia, and the previously launched £48,000 Panigale V4 Tricolore, are the only production sportsbikes to feature them.

To help improve handling, there’s also a set of five-spoke carbon fibre wheels, which have been configured two-up riding. They reduce the weight, compared to the standard 17in forged wheels, by 0.950kg and are said to reduce inertia by 12% at the front and 19% at the rear. Overall, the Panigale tips the scales at 188kg, without its 17-litres of fuel on board.

There’s also a dedicated Dainese one-piece leather suit available for the factory look, as well as a billet aluminium fuel filler cap, and an open carbon cover for the dry clutch for that signature Ducati rattle.

For an added touch of authenticity, each Panigale comes in a wooden crate with dedicated graphics, plus a motorcycle cover, and certificate of authenticity.

A GPS module is used to measure on-track performance, with the front and rear mudguard, chain guard, heel guards, swingarm cover, exhaust guard, and alternator cover all finished in carbon fibre.
