Sub-£5000 AJS Sedona 250 cruiser launched with A2 licence compliant V-twin engine

Affordable low-capacity bike specialists AJS have launched a new Sedona 250 V-twin cruiser for 2025, priced at just £4599.

Producing a claimed 26.6bhp at 9000rpm, and tipping the scales at 172kg in running order, it looks set up to go up against other affordable cruisers including the £4059-on Royal Enfield Meteor 350 single.

Unlike the air-cooled Enfield though, the AJS gets a more authentic 75-degree V-twin engine with air-oil cooling, shrouded by chunky bodywork and blacked-out chassis components.

Fed by an 18-litre fuel tank, AJS say it’s capable of around 80mph, with provisions chucked in for both a rider and pillion plus 15.5lb.ft of torque.

Away from the gentle performance, the dimensions should also make it manageable for riders of all sizes too, with a low seat height of 750mm.

The forward mounted controls, easy reach to the flat bars, and gently cantered forward front seat should also keep things comfortable over distance – however it’s clear even from the press images provided that this might be a snug fit for riders with longer limbs.

Elsewhere, fuel economy is said to be an impressive 73.5mpg – giving a theoretical 291 miles between trips to the pumps. The brakes are decent too, with a disc at either end equipped with ABS, plus a 17in front wheel and a 16-incher at the rear for gentle road-focussed ability.

A set of upside-down front forks complete the look, with the only spring adjustment being the preload in the dual twin shocks.
