KTM have given their flagship adventure model the big-bore treatment, revealing the all-new 1390 Super Adventure S Evo with a semi-automatic gearbox.

Kicking off the changes is a moped sized displacement bump from 1301cc up to 1350cc. Accompanying this is a 10bhp gain, with the Euro5+ compliant LC8 V-Twin motor now churning out a claimed 170bhp and 107lb.ft of torque. Fuel tank capacity stays at 23-litres and weight is quoted at 245kg fuelled.

Manual gearbox fans need look elsewhere, as the Super Adventure S Evo will be specced exclusively with KTM’s newly released electronically controlled Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) system.

Also making its debut is KTM’s new V80 TFT display, which provides access to features like KTM’s updated Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system. Powered by Bosch’s latest radar tech, the ACC can bring the bike to a dead stop when following traffic, before automatically moving off again when the road clears.

Making use of the Camshift technology unveiled on the existing 1390 SuperDuke R Evo, KTM say the Austrian adventure bike gets greater peak performance, alongside improved low-end rideability, plus low emissions and low fuel consumption too.

There are also subtle chassis tweaks to note, including increased frame stiffness and footpegs that are positioned wider and lower than before – it will be interesting to see if these changes carry over to the 1390 Adventure R, with a narrow standover typically preferred for off-pavement riding.

KTM have also fitted the latest generation WP Semi-Active suspension, which they say gives greater precision thanks to a new Pulse Width Module (PWM) and revised fork through-rod construction.

Styling and ergonomics also get a tweak too, with a new bodywork and seat design, all-new LED headlight, windshield, and storage compartment rounding out the changes. Bikes will be available in dealerships by February 2025, with prices yet to be announced.
