Triumph have given their popular Tiger Sport 660 triple touring middleweight a hefty technical overhaul for 2025, promising an additional new riding mode, and cruise control, cornering ABS, for just £50 more than the old model.

Now starting at £8995 and available in dealers from January 2025, the liquid-cooled three-cylinder 660cc engine is now Euro5+ compliant and promises 90% peak torque availability across the entire rev range.

Power sits at a claimed 81bhp at 10,250rpm, making it A2 licence friendly with the optional restrictor kit in place, with a peak torque of 47.2lb.ft arriving at 6250rpm. Fuel is fed via a 17.2-litre tank, with service intervals coming every 10,000 miles.

The new 660 follows in the footsteps of the recently announced Tiger Sport 800, which shares the same tubular steel perimeter frame stuffed with a larger 798cc engine.

For 2025, the 660 retains an almost identical look to when it was first introduced for 2022 – with the real changes now found in the electronics.

To give riders a wider safety net during use, the new 660 now features three riding modes – gaining a third ‘Sport’ setting for more instantaneous throttle response when you want to let your hair down.

Thanks to a ride-by-wire throttle, there’s now also cruise control as standard for longer journeys – working alongside the upright handlebars and manually adjustable front screen to reduce rider fatigue over distance.

Further electronic editions also include cornering ABS, plus switchable traction control – plus full LED lighting for greater visibility.

“With optimised cornering ABS and traction control included as standard, plus cruise control and Triumph Shift Assist (an up/down quickshifter), this bike offers riders incredibly good value compared to the competition,” Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Stroud said. “Coupled with the Tiger Sport 660’s low cost of ownership, I believe we have created a very compelling overall package.”

On top of the above, there’s also a part-LCD, part-TFT display as before, offering mobile connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation should you want it.

Away from the new technical package, much like before there’s a pair of 41mm Showa upside down forks with 150mm of travel. A Showa monoshock offers the same amount of movement at the rear but comes with preload adjustment for when you’re carrying additional luggage and/or a pillion passenger.

Despite the Tiger adventure name, it remains strictly road focussed – with five-spoke 17in wheels at the front and rear, equipped with all-weather Michelin Road 5 tyres.

Being a Triumph, there’s also over 40 official accessories to go at, including a dual comfort seat, a 30-litre roll bag, twin helmet top box, and more.

New colours arrive for 2025 too – including a striking lime ‘Roulette Green’ that harks back to Triumph models of yesteryear.
