Rieju’s five grand Aventura 307 Rally looks set to shake up the dual sport market

With small capacity adventure bikes and single cylinder traillies undergoing somewhat of a renaissance currently, Rieju too have joined the fray, creating what could finally be the cheap, lightweight and capable machine enthusiasts have been crying out for – the Aventura Rally 307 – and it will be available from July 2025.

Although new on the block, it could spell serious trouble for the established competition, with the all the important boxes apparently ticked and all for a very competitive price.

The new 307 uses a fuel injected single cylinder 293cc Loncin motor – as used in the Voge 300 Rally. Bore and stroke are the same as Kawasaki’s KLX300 motor, but peak power is quoted at 33bhp – 30% higher than the Kawasaki.

The bike weighs a lithe 138kg dry, again undercutting much of the competition, including Honda’s incredibly popular CRF300 Rally by 4kg.

Rieju International Sales Director, David Martínez, told MCN: “Our idea is to create something easy and lightweight for off-road, but also to have certain on-road capabilities too.

“You could use this bike to go to work every day if you want, but equally, it can be a weekend weapon for riding off-road or going on adventures.

“Of course, it’s not a competition rally bike; we’re not going to be entering the Dakar with it. But our competition background has certainly inspired this bike.

“This bike will be affordable; we don’t have exact prices yet, but it will be within a range of €5000.

“It’s our first attempt at this sort of bike, but you could say that we know what we’re doing. We’ve been building motorcycles for 80 years and have a strong heritage off-road.”

Rieju are no strangers to the world of off-road, with factory rider Mireia Badia recently taking top spot in the women’s category of the Enduro World Championship.

The new 307 features long-travel upside-down forks and an adjustable monoshock out back.

It also rolls on an 18/21-inch wheel combo and will come shipped with 50/50 tyres as standard (although it was showcased at EICMA sporting Michelin Enduro Mediums, these will not be fitted to production bikes).

Rieju Chief Engineer, August Castellà, added: “We have a very good fuel capacity at 20 litres. That means a range of at least 400km, maybe even 500km.

“The seat height is low too at 890mm, but we still believe we have the highest ground clearance in the segment.”

Although at the lower end of the price spectrum, the Aventura Rally has several practical touches for off-road exploration – it’s narrow for a start, with a bench seat, spiked footpegs, a bolt-on rather than welded subframe, removable pillion pegs, high exhaust, and wrap-around handguards.

It’s not about rugged simplicity though, as Rieju have included a seven-inch vertically mounted TFT dashboard. It features all the usual modern-day goodies, including phone mirroring for turn-by-turn navigation.

Standard equipment includes a rear luggage rack, but Rieju confirmed to MCN that a full rack and soft baggage set-up is on the horizon and will be available to purchase as an accessory.
