Still dual sport leaders? Honda upgrades to hugely popular CRF300L and CRF300 Rally for 2025

Honda’s uber popular CRF300 family is set to receive a handful of subtle mechanical and styling updates for the coming year, with the Japanese manufacturer choosing to refine, rather than reinvent, both bikes.

Engine components remain unchanged, but the CRF300L and CRF300 Rally will benefit from revised damping rates for the forks and shock – with both having been previously criticised for coming with overly soft suspension in standard trim.

Updates to the radiator fan and side panels also promise improved heat management, helping direct hot air from the engine and radiator more effectively away from the rider.

There are also subtle visual tweaks, including a switch from the old model’s halogen indicators to compact LED units and a new livery design. Additionally, the Rally now offers an optional USB socket.

With so few updates announced for the CRF300 platform and Suzuki’s all-new DR-Z platform making its debut, it remains to be seen whether Honda will hold onto its dual-sport crown in the year ahead.

The price for either 2025 machine remains unannounced at this time.
