Sonic boom! Ducati reveal their lightest Streetfighter ever featuring their all new 890cc V2 engine

As well as dropping the new Panigale V2 and Panigale V2 S, Ducati have also been busy shoehorning their new 890cc powertrain into a refreshed roadster platform to produce the Streetfighter and Streetfighter S.

Despite the unfaired look, it’s clear then that the Streetfighter is every bit a full-on supersport underneath, sharing the exact same underpinnings as the Panigale V2, with the Bologna marque following a simple recipe to create both flavours of the naked machine.

Ducati have effectively taken the fresh-faced Panigale, ripped its clothes off and slapped a set of upright bars on, creating a machine that offers the same 118bhp at 10,750rpm and 68.8lb.ft of torque at 8250rpm as its fully faired sibling, while undergoing a significant 18kg mass reduction compared with its predecessor.

Now tipping the scales at just 175kg without fuel, this is the lightest Streetfighter ever to leave the Bologna stable.

Like the Panigale, its dramatic weight-loss journey can be attributed to a fanatical pound-shedding exercise across the board, from the new 890cc 90-degree V-twin that weighs just 54.4kg, to the new 4kg lightweight monocoque chassis, double sided swingarm, six-spoke wheels, and Brembo braking setup.

Suspension for the standard model comes courtesy of Marzocchi 43mm forks and a Kayaba rear shock – both of which are fully adjustable. Customers seeking a more premium experience can splash out on the S model, which upgrades to Öhlins hardware at both ends. The S also gets a lightweight lithium-ion battery.

The athletic theme carries on to the onboard electronics package, with the Bologna marque specifying their six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-controlled cornering ABS with slide-by-brake functionality, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and their latest up/down quickshifter borrowed straight from the £29,995 Panigale V4 S

Likewise, there are four riding modes: Race, Sport, Road, and Wet – all of which are configurable to user preferences.

Prices have been confirmed at £13,995 for the base model, or £15,995 for the more premium S, with bikes available in showrooms from March 2025. Customers will only have one colour option to choose from, so if red’s not for you, neither is the Streetfighter. A2 licence holders can also access the new bike via a 47bhp version.
