More of everything! Aprilia Tuono V4 family gets bigger engine, more power, and clever new tech

1 of 5

Aprilia have made their full-on super-naked Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory even more performance-targeted for 2025, with a capacity increase and advanced new tech.

Not only do they now feature a bigger-capacity motor, they also have enhanced aero and a predictive electronics package that puts some rival sportsbikes to shame.

In order to meet Euro5+ regulations but not sacrifice any performance, the Tuono’s V4 has grown in capacity from 1077cc to 1099cc, a move that sees its peak power up to a claimed 177.5bhp from its previous 172.5bhp. Peak torque remains the same at 89.3ft.lb – more than enough to hoist the 17in front wheel.

This boost has also been achieved through larger 52mm throttle bodies and a revised exhaust system with the catalytic converter repositioned in a bid to prevent unpleasant heat reaching the rider.

While the Tuono’s chassis remains unaltered (unlike the 2025 RSV4 it doesn’t get Brembo’s new Hypure calipers, it sticks with Stylema units), the frame is now finished in matte black. As before, the base model comes with fully adjustable Sachs suspension where the Factory gets Öhlins semi-active Smart EC 2.0 units.

Both bikes feature the latest design of RSV bodywork with the naked’s overlapping winglets claimed to increase vertical load on the front by 2.5kg at 155mph – which is just what you need on a naked bike…

Aprilia took the decision to separate the focus of the Tuono models a few years ago with the base V4 model aimed at sporty road riders and the Factory version targeting extreme use with an eye on track riding. This is now even more apparent as the 2025 Factory comes loaded with cutting-edge tech as standard with more as optional extras.

Taken directly from the new RSV4 Factory, the Tuono V4 Factory has the latest generation of Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) with its all-new adaptive/predictive elements as standard.

Building on the base model’s angle-responsive ABS and traction control, up/down quickshifter and variable engine maps, the Factory comes with the optional Track Pack and Comfort Pack included in its price.

Available as upgrades to the stock Tuono V4, these add the new predictive features to APRC’s Aprilia Slide Control (ASC) and wheelie control (AWC) as well as cruise control and cornering lights. But Tuono V4 Factory owners can take it a stage further…

Only an option on the top-spec model, the Race Pack brings a GPS-guided corner-by-corner set-up function to the Tuono’s electronics which can be further enhanced through the Suspension Pack to also include corner-by-corner suspension set-up.

Accessed via Aprilia’s multimedia platform Aprilia MIA (which is an accessory on both models), it’s a unique feature to Aprilia’s sporty naked models for 2025 and data from the ECU can be downloaded and analysed afterwards, making it a functional datalogging system.

Other small but notable updates to the Tuono models for 2025 include refinements to the 5in colour dash graphics, backlit switchgear, and a simplified rear light cluster that is quick and easy to remove for track use.

The Tuono V4 Factory is only available in Dark Kraken while the Tuono V4 comes in either Shark Gray or Scorpion Yellow.
