Aprilia’s Tuono 660 Factory middleweight naked gets improved engine and Öhlins finery for 2025

Aprilia have upgraded their Tuono 660 Factory naked with a more powerful Euro5+ compliant twin-cylinder engine, improved electronics, and a full suite of Öhlins suspension.

The changes largely mimic the incoming RS660 Factory sportsbike, sharing the same gruntier engine, chassis, and suspension upgrades.

Starting with these springs, the old Tuono Factory’s fully adjustable KYB forks and Sachs mono shock have been thrown away and replaced with 43mm Öhlins NIX upside downers, plus an STX 46 shock. As before, both ends are fully adjustable.

On top of this, the 660cc engine’s claimed power has hopped up from 99bhp to a claimed 103.6bhp at the crank. A restricted 47bhp model will also be available for the well-heeled A2 licence holder.

The increase in performance is helped by the larger throttle bodies, which climb from 48mm to 52mm. The engine itself is also a load bearing component – acting as a stressed member within the aluminium dual beam chassis.

Other updates include an improved electronic system, which already boasted lean sensitivity and a host of optional riding modes. For 2025, the package now gets added launch control, which will work alongside cruise control, anti-wheelie, traction control, engine braking management, and more.

Much like the RS660, there’s also a new 5in full colour TFT display, which uses optical bonding to help reduce reflection and improve brightness. A new seat design rounds off the changes and should afford the rider more room to get tucked in under acceleration.
