End of the road: Triumph announce Thruxton Final Edition for 2024

Triumph have announced that they will call time on the Thruxton café racer at the end of 2024 and will mark the departure with a special Final Edition model available for one year only.

The £15,095 FE will come finished in a glossy British racing green complete with hand painted gold lining on the petrol tank, and rear seat cowl with the artist’s initials concealed beneath the bodywork.

Each bike will also be sold with a certificate of authenticity, featuring the unique VIN number and signed by members of the Thruxton 1200 design team and Triumph CEO, Nick Bloor. It will be available with or without a subtle colour-matched front fairing that can also be bolted on to the pre-existing £14,195 RS.

Outside of this, the Final Edition is essentially the same spec as the current Triumph RS model – featuring the same golden 43mm Showa upside down big piston forks, and Öhlins twin shocks, plus a blacked out version of the 103bhp 8V SOHC parallel twin motor.

Although the modern adaptations of the Thruxton café racer first appeared back in 2004, the name can be found much further back in the British brand’s history.

The original Triumph Bonneville T120 Thruxton racer began competing in the late 1950s and became the first production bike to average over 100mph at the 1969 Isle of Man TT races.

It got its most recent (and now final) major overhaul in 2016, with this latest machine sitting alongside the RS for the last production year. Order books have now opened, with more information available at the Triumph Motorcycles website now.
