CFMoto expand their road-biased adventure bike range with new 700MT twin

CFMoto have released details of their latest 700MT adventure tourer, which will line up between the 650MT and 800MT models later this month as a road-biased adventure tourer.

At the heart of the 700MT is a 693cc parallel-twin engine, derived from the Kawasaki ER6 range and producing a claimed 66.1bhp at 6000rpm and 44.3lbft of torque at 7250 rpm. This is housed in a chromoly-steel-tube chassis.

Providing the damping is a set of 43mm upside down forks at the front while a side-mounted monoshock rear shock controls the bike’s aluminium swing arm. This allows 140mm and 45mm of suspension travel for the front and rear respectively – helping with the CFMoto 700MT’s dual purpose characteristics.

Slowing down the 218kg bike is a pair of 300mm J.Juan discs at the front, while a 240mm single discis provided at the rear. It’s equipped with ABS as standard to help meet Euro5, with a pair of 17-inch Pirelli tyres gripping the road – limiting its off-road prowess. Upfront, there’s a 120-section hoop, with a 160 at the rear.

Riders will be presented with a five inch TFT display that provides information on speed, RPM, fuel level, and more. The dash is also equipped with Type A and Type B USB plugs, allowing riders to charge and connect their devices.

With a seat height of 820mm extendable to 840 and with an 18-litre fuel tank, the CFMoto 700MT should provide impressive range and a comfortable riding position across any terrain. Other features include a redesigned screen to improve aerodynamics, LED lights to ensure superior visibility, and a multi-plate, wet clutch for power delivery.

The CFMoto 700MT will be available in Nebula White and Nebula Black colour schemes from UK dealers from mid-July 2023. In late October 2022 it was revealed that KTM would take over distribution for CFMoto in the UK and Ireland from January 2023.

While in March CFMoto announced plans to recruit up to 30 new dealers supported by backing from Pierer Mobility – the Austrian conglomerate behind the success of KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, and the WP Suspension brand. Both colours options of the CFMoto 700MT will retail at £6699 on the road.
