Intermot: Retro Honda CB1100EX updated for 2017

1 of 9

The standard CB1100EX model gets a raft of nips and tucks for 2017. Front and rear lights are now LED and the new 18in wheels run stainless steel spokes. The rims roll under a new 41mm Showa Dual Bending Valve fork and matched dual Showa rear shocks.

The engine gets the same improvements as the CB1100RS with revised inlets and smaller, lighter dual mufflers – and the assist slipper clutch. The geometry is slightly more relaxed than the RS, the seat is a marginal 5mm lower at 790mm, and the weight has increased three kilos
to 255kg.

Those newly laced 18in  wheels run 110/80 R18 and 140/70 R18 rubber, and like the RS, they benefit from L-shaped valves for easy access at the pumps. The braking hardware is a little less focused than the RS, with non-radial four-pot Nissins clamping twin 296mm floating discs up front. The EX gets the same LED lighting, but reverts to period-style bulbous indicators for that heritage feel.

The CB1100EX will be available in Pearl Shining Yellow, Pearl Sunbeam White and Candy Prominence Red.
