CF Moto 650MT coming soon

The new adventure styled 650MT makes 71hp, has an 18 litre tank and is ready to tour

CF Moto have released the 650MT, the third bike based on a 650cc engine to come from the Chinese manufacturers. The previous bikes, the 650i and 650TR, were naked and touring bikes respectively, while the 650MT is an adventure styled touring bike.

The 650MT is built around a new tubular steel frame and swingarm, with a water-cooled 650cc parallel-twin providing the power. The new engine is Euro 4 compliant, thanks to a new Bosch EFI system that CF Moto say also gives it a more responsive and crisp ride. The new engine is said to make 71hp at 8750rpm.

The rest of the design is also geared towards offering a comfortable and fun ride. The seat height is adjustable between 820mm and 840mm and the front and rear suspension are also fully adjustable. The tank is 18l, so not the biggest around but it should give a decent range as it’s unlikely the motor will be very thirsty.

In keeping with other Euro 4 standards, the 650MT also has ABS brakes and auto-on LED lights. There are a few other premium touches too such as economy and sport riding modes, a USB port and a full LCD dash that displays current gear and fuel level alongside all the usual warning lights and speed.

We think you’ll agree that it’s a very pretty looking thing, although even CF Moto themselves admit some of the styling cues have been taken from the bikes that they build for KTM. UK pricing has yet to be announced but if it comes in at the same price as the previous models, expect it to be around £5000 with the panniers an optional extra.
