The heart of any superbike is the engine – but with the Ducati 1199 Panigale’s Superquadro engine this is more true then ever.
Ducati claim the 1200cc, super square V-twin engine makes 195bhp – 20bhp more than the outgoing 1198. The engine is bristling with advanced technoclogy, such as vacuum die-cast cylinders, chain-and-gear driven cams and race-derived pistons.
The video below shows a computerised model of the engine being assembled, and looks rather beautiful.
